Lawrence Lessig: The Only Solution

How do we take this change that we are supposed to believe in, how do we make it possible again to believe? ... In my view the key is that we need steps that will restore trust in this institution (Congress). And in my view the only way to restore trust is to remove this obvious and improper dependence (on money). What we need here is not so much a declaration of independence but a declaration for independence - a declaration for the importance of our representatives being independent from interests that drive them to do not what is in the interests of their districts, but what is in the interests of those that would fund them to get back to Congress.
